the Arndt family travel blog
Hi, we are Ben & Anna Arndt
People travel for so many reasons, but for our family, it has become a lifestyle. Let me explain: we were both raised by parents who started and pastored churches in the USA, South America, Asia, and Europe. Our childhoods were spent adventuring through different cultures and places, making life-long friends and connections, not being able to give a short reply to “Where are you from?”, and developing an adaptability that would come very in handy when we teamed up in marriage to form a family.
In 15 years we have lived with our four children in 9 houses across three states, and we are about to move from 3,000 square feet and seven acres to 300 square feet on wheels! But first, a word about foundations: Following Jesus, our Good Shepherd, has been at the heart of our Why for all our major decisions as a family (and hopefully most of the small decisions too). He has taken two kids of missionaries and grown roots in us by establishing us in the wonderful town of Grand Rapids, Michigan. And He has also led us on some seemingly crazy adventures for which we are forever changed. (More on that on the blog.)
We are off on a new adventure!
We are off on a new adventure!
Now we are embarking on a new adventure: to see our passport country, coast to coast, in an RV with our children, bringing with us curiosity, generosity, and love of God’s world and people. We have never seen most of America, and neither have our kids. We are so excited to discover the beauty and heritage this land and it’s people hold. Bonus: we are currently studying American History together. What better way to really understand it than to see where it all has taken place?
The title, Arndt We There Yet, comes from the deep longing we have to be Home. We won’t be Truly Home until we meet our Maker, so in the mean time the point is story: the way we move through the world, with eyes on Jesus, staying soft and usable for his purposes so he can draw others to Himself is our part in his grand story. Others are blessed and drawn to him when we point to Jesus with our lives. And it is only by His grace we can continue to walk in His way.
So, if you’re wanting to keep up with all that we are learning, follow along, and see how God continues to grow us into who he wants us to be. We will be writing on the blog and sharing on Instagram, so make sure to check back. Also, sign up for our newsletterThere is sure to be adventure, mishap, heartbreak, frustration, marvel, wonder, and awe! And sharing the journey is such a privilege for us!
